  • Can I ride the Unicorn?

    Individuals weighing up to 40 LBS ONLY can ride our Posh Unicorn at Ride-On parties. Others may snuggle, pet, interact & take photos. All riders must weigh 40 LBS or less! This is for the safety of the children and the animal.

  • Is there a weight limit for riding?

    Yes, 40 Pounds!

    Kids weighing up to 40 LBS ONLY can ride our unicorn.

    Anyone over 40 LBS can still stand next to her for pictures and enjoy hugs & snuggles.


  • Can I ride the Pegasus?

    No. Our Pegasus cannot accommodate a saddle or rider and is for professional photoshoots only.

  • Can the Unicorn come to a local park, the beach, or a public place?

    Great question! It’s important to find out if horses are allowed at the location you would like to have your event. They are not always allowed at all public parks, beaches, etc., so you’ll need to do your research. Please make sure you find out the policies of the location you would like to book before contacting us. Some locations allow horses, some don’t, and some require permits. Some will actually fine you if you’re not careful, so please check the rules before booking your Unicorn event. Location is always discussed & agreed upon (& often photographed for reference) when booking, and we make sure the logistics are appropriate before moving forward. So, in short, YES, we can come to your desired location if we are legally allowed.

  • Can the unicorn come to my house?

    We are WILLING to travel….If all the criteria are met for each location. Is there enough room at your residence? Is there a safe place for us to park our trailer and move around comfortably with a live horse? Do you live in or around San Diego County? If your answer is yes to all of these questions, we would be happy to bring our unicorn to an event at your home!

  • How long is an event?

    Most events, such as Pony Parties and Luxury Picnics, start at 2 hours long.

    Additional time is available as an Add-on option at both Pony Parties and Luxury Picnics.

    Photoshoots vary but are typically 30 minutes per session. Minis are usually 5-10 minutes per session. Exact details are provided at the time of booking.

  • What happens if the Unicorn poops?

    We bring a rake and poop bin to clean up.

  • Can the Unicorn appearance be a SURPRISE for guests?

    Yes! We recommend blocking off an oversized parking spot for our truck and trailer on an adjacent street from your location. (Please no more than 1 block away.) Here, our team can glam up, saddle up, and prepare the unicorn for the party, photoshoot, or event without being seen prematurely!

    If you would like us to park like this discreetly, please provide us with a “parking address” in addition to your “venue address.”

  • What do I wear?

    Everyone should always wear CLOSED-TOE SHOES! Our unicorn is super sweet, but we want to use common sense and exercise caution. Since coming in contact with our live mini unicorn is at your own risk, closed-toe shoes are best to protect everyone’s toes and feet.

    Are you doing a photoshoot? We recommend neutrals with those closed-toe shoes! White, Ivory, Beige, Sage, Pale Pink, and Ocean Blue all work beautifully. Bohemian-style attire works great; lace is very pretty as well. Try to stay away from patterns and dots if possible.

    Parents, grandparents, guardians!!! You may want to dress in a nice neutral outfit, too, even if you don’t plan on being in all the pictures. Sometimes, children feel more comfortable around a live animal when Mommy, Daddy, or family is near, so it’s nice to be prepared. Sometimes, those smiles really light up when a child feels safe and closer to loved ones. Just a suggestion to be prepared in case you end up in some or all of the pictures.


  • Do riders have to wear a HELMET?

    Yes! We ask that all riders wear a helmet!

    We provide a helmet at every party; however, you are always welcome to bring your own helmet.

  • Do I need to talk with my kids about SAFETY around horses, eh hmm, Unicorns, before we arrive?

    Yes Please!!! Thank you for asking!! Our unicorn is a sweetheart, but she is a real, live animal that weighs several hundred pounds, so it’s important to use caution, use common sense and be aware. The Posh Unicorn appreciates you having a little talk with your kids before any party, photoshoot, picnic, or event and let them know that there is no loud screaming permitted, no fast movement, jumping, or acting hyper around our unicorn, and that ‘indoor voices’ are best. Remind them to be safe, watch their toes, & stay away from the back side of the unicorn. Just a general ‘safety talk’ by each parent before an event goes a long way to keep everyone safe, happy, and having fun! We thank you so much for your attention to this!

  • Will the kids be scared?

    Sometimes, kids suddenly, unexpectedly, or intermittently get scared of the unicorn. It’s normal. Every child is different. We’re used to it. Our Posh Unicorn can feel like a big animal, especially for a little kid, so we understand this can be a natural reaction. Sometimes, there may be a child or two who is just unsure, and we tell them it’s okay and they don’t have to ride or do anything they are not comfortable with. They can pet the unicorn, take a picture standing next to her, just watch, or just avoid her altogether. We do our best to make sure the kids feel no pressure and just have fun doing whatever feels comfortable for them!

  • How do I save my date?

    Booking your event with payment in full saves your date. Please call or text 619-846-5349 to check availability & get started.

  • Why do I have to pay in full to reserve my date?

    A lot of work goes into preparing your special event from the moment you book. We spend many hours and several days before any unicorn party or picnic planning, such as gathering, washing, drying, braiding, glittering, prepping tables and pillows, getting the decor in and out of the warehouse, etc. We reserve the day for the event, often turning down other potential bookings, and focus on making our confirmed bookings the best they can be. A lot of time & effort goes into our events before they happen. When a client cancels last minute, we can’t get that back, we can’t pay our crew for the prep they already did, and it is a lot of work lost for our small business. We would be more than willing to provide you with several references of people who have paid in full in the past and can vouch for us providing a good experience.

  • How far in advance do I need to book my event?

    As soon as possible! We fill up quickly so contact us to inquire today! Weekends fill up extra fast so don’t delay! We usually need at least 3-4 weeks notice to accommodate but it always boils down to what’s booked so it’s best to contact us for availability. Once your payment in full has been received, your date is locked in our Posh calendar!

  • What's the Cancellation Policy?

    Booking payments are NON-REFUNDABLE. They are used to guarantee our crew, photographers and handlers’ time & availability for the date you book your event. As soon as your booking is confirmed, we begin to work hard & put time in to produce your party, photoshoot or event. Pre-production is important with our kind of work so please be sure you are ready to commit when booking.


    That being said, we understand that things come up!! Sometimes it rains, sometimes things happen that are out of our control! We get it!


    If you give us at least 48 hours notice, we can reschedule for another date within 3 months of your original date.

  • Is there a deposit for incidentals required?

    Deposits are required for events that include ‘set-ups’ and utilize props such as pillows, tables, teepees, dishware, rugs, etc for Bohemian Picnics, Parties and custom events.

    Bookings will include a $75 REFUNDABLE Deposit IF you are hosting one of our Boho/Party/Picnic Set Ups. If something happens to get damaged, we charge your deposit OR at minimum, charge the replacement cost of the item damaged and return the difference to you.

  • What happens if something gets damaged, spilled on, stained or destroyed?

    We require a $75 REFUNDABLE Deposit for our Luxury Picnic & Mini Boho TeePee Set Ups. If all of our items used for an event are returned to us in their original condition, we refund the deposit within 24 hours. If something happens to get ruined beyond repair, we charge your deposit OR at minimum, charge the replacement cost of the item damaged and return the difference to you.

  • What happens if it rains?

    OUR UNICORNS DO NOT TRAVEL IN THE RAIN! This is for safety reasons! If it rains, we reschedule for another date within 3 months. The reschedule can be for another party or a private 1:1 unicorn experience.


    Our Luxury Picnics & Photoshoots cannot be set up or conducted in the rain. You can move an outdoor picnic to an indoor location or reschedule for another date within 3 months. Photoshoots are typically outside and will need to be rescheduled in the event of rain.

  • Do I have to fill out a Liability Waiver for my myself and/or my child?

    Yes! Everyone must sign a waiver for all services! All kids under 18 years of age must have a Parent/Guardian sign our Liability Waiver before riding.

  • Are Food and/or Drinks included with my picnic or event?

    No, we do NOT provide or include food or drinks at our events.

    Sometimes we do connect with a few good vendors for charcuterie, cakes, macarons, etc so feel free to ask us if we have any suggestions!

  • Can I bring my own Food and/or Drinks?

    Of course!! 


    Please keep in mind, most San Diego beaches and other public areas do not permit alcoholic beverages. If you decide to bring your own alcoholic beverage, we are not responsible for any fines/tickets issued to you.
